TEN YEARS OF MESAS - Modelling and Simulation for Autonomous System Conference in Palermo
From 17-19 October 2023, the NATO M&S COE successfully organized the MESAS’23 Conference in Palermo University (Sicily). This event marked ten years of MESAS, and was hosted in cooperation with the University of Palermo. This year’s MESAS was one of the most successful MESAS Conferences to date.
The success of MESAS’23 was due to the efforts of Lieutenant Colonel Jiri NOVOTNY (NATO M&S COE), Colonel Jan MAZAL (Czech University of Defense) and to Professors Adriano FAGIOLINI and Francesco Maria RAIMONDI from the University of Palermo. In addition, the Professor Petr VASIK (Brno University of Technology) managed the whole paper review process.
The content of the conference proved insightful to the community in the field of autonomous systems and emerging technologies. MESAS was also valuable for the participants to establish new contacts for future collaboration, to share the latest information on these technologies and charting a way ahead for this important field.
The NATO MS COE’s goal is to maintain the level growth. The key of success is welcome new papers and participants to share their ideas with the community.

- 10 Companies (German Aerospace Center DLR, H.M Forces, H2 Analytics, CNR-INM -Italian National Research Council-, Leonardo s.p.a, SII Group, TNO, TXT E-TECH s.r.l., WTD 71, HyImpulse Technologies GmbH;
- Papers (46 submissions, 28 papers accepted after review).
