NATO M&S COE: Education, Training, Exercises and Evaluation (ETEE) Annual Discipline Conference (ADC)

The NATO Modelling & Simulation Centre of Excellence hosted the 4th Education, Training, Exercises and Evaluation (ETEE) Annual Discipline Conference (ADC) from 12-14 March.
The ETEE discipline is both large (approximately 350 NATO requirements) and diverse (18 functional areas, including Modelling & Simulation) with a community of interest that encompasses two Requirement Authorities, 15 different Requirement Authority representatives, numerous SMEs and 20 training providers. The NATO School Oberammergau is appointed as the discipline Department Head by HQ SACT DCOS Joint Force Development.
In line with the NATO Global Programming battle rhythm, the Annual Discipline Conference is a fundamental event that involves a review of the NATO Education and Training (E&T) requirements related to the discipline and verifies the adequacy of the discipline specific E&T programme to satisfy the requirements. The intent is to ensure E&T remains aligned with evolving needs and to determine the way ahead in closing gaps while further developing the discipline.
The Conference welcomed over 52 participants from 19 different nations including representatives from NATO HQ SACT, NATO SHAPE and 20 Education & Training Facilities
The Conference was opened by Colonel Francesco Pacillo, the Centre’s Director, who welcomed the community to Rome and the NATO M&S COE.

Written by Lt. Col. Giovanni Tillo and Lt. Col. Cristoforo Russo NATO M&S COE

They offer recognized expertise and experience that is of benefit to the Alliance and support the transformation of NATO, while avoiding the duplication of assets, resources and capabilities already present within the NATO command structure. Although not part of the NATO command structure, they are part of a wider framework supporting NATO Command Arrangements. [source https://www.act.nato.int/centres-of-excellence]
